In a time of infinite gift lists and instagram ads, why is so difficult to find a good present?
How do we know if the other person is going to like it?
As someone that loves giving presents - that’s my love language - I’m going to share with you some tips to help you find a great gift without stress.
Finding the perfect gift is not about buying something expensive but about finding something meaningful for the other person and for your relationship.
Look at it this way. When we gift something we are telling the other person that we care about them, that we listen to what they share with us and that they are loved.
A thoughtful gift comes from the heart and it helps us to express without words how much we care about our friends.
I love it when a friend gives me something and says: this made me think of you!
It makes me feel special and it’s heartwarming to know that they went to the trouble of finding something unique for me.
Do you need help finding a meaningful gift for your best friend?
Use this method to find something that will make your friend feel special.
First, think about all the things you both like doing together, how you became part of each other’s lives and about the things she loves sharing with you.
Find below a list of keywords that can help you narrow down your choices. If you feel that one or all the words are related to your relationship, you’re one step closer to finding a perfect gift:
If you and your friend like: safaris, tigers, cat memes, morning walks in the gardens/park, drawing butterflies, visiting cat cafes, the colour purple, picking fresh cut flowers, jam pastries, wearing comfy shoes, floaty dresses.
If you and your friend like: Strawberry pastries, hot herbal infusions, the smell of peppermint, cosy afternoons in cafes, seeing deer, eating berries, drawing mushrooms, the colour green, aromatic tea, drinking matcha, wearing pretty ballet flats, buying and trying-not-to-kill house plants.
If you and your friend like: Spotting animals in trees, sending funny wildlife memes, going for brunch on the weekend, rose or hazelnut coffee, sitting at the park on a picnic blanket, cucumber sandwiches, wearing sandals, sparkling fruity cocktails.
More than the gift it’s the meaning behind it that makes it special and helps to nurture our relationships.
I hope you find something to gift that will help you express how much you care.
Gina :)
