Hi I’m Gina and I share nature-infused inspiration, from art to travel. You can also check out my art portfolio on my website, where we can connect and collaborate.
I get ideas for paintings from all over the place, at any time. The secret is to pay attention to what's going on around you, and to notice what catches your eye. For me, nature is always a source of inspiration. When I'm out for a walk, I often get distracted by flowers, insects, and birds that I spot along the way. I'm fascinated by the shapes, textures, and colours of everything, and I usually take pictures or notes on my phone to remember things that I like. It takes a while longer to walk with me but at the end of the day, anything can spark an idea.
Once I have an idea, the next step is to refine it, play around and then turn it into a painting. This is where the real fun begins, because it's all about experimenting with different techniques and materials to bring the idea to life. I start by sketching ideas, refining the composition, and then choosing the colour palettes.
For me the process is roughly similar every time, but the end result is always different and that's what makes it so exciting! I love it when I get so caught up in making art that I lose track of time, and before I know it, hours have flown by. It's almost like I'm in a creative zone, where everything else just fades away.
I wrote a blog post talking about how I develop my ideas for paintings, you can read it on the link below.
THINGS I’M LOVING
